Summary

Council also considered Planning Commission Amendments (VSB-2025-21, Ordinance Z-2025-03), described as housekeeping changes to clarify or remove redundancy in the zoning ordinance. Member Perkins questioned why marijuana establishments were prohibited; staff and President Lutke explained the Village opted out by Ordinance in 2018. Smith moved, Yoder seconded, to adopt Ordinance No. Z-2025-03. Roll call vote: Yoder-Yes, Smith-Yes, Bahle-Yes, Perkins-No, Suppes-Yes, Lutke-Yes. Ayes: 5, Nays: 1. Motion carried.
Under Good of the Order, Member Perkins informed the Council that the Leelanau County Commission on Aging is available to assist residents with utility payments for those who meet eligibility criteria.
