Trustee Hawley reported the Planning Commission concurred with repealing four township ordinances covered by the zoning ordinance and continues work on the Master Plan, including review of wind and solar policies from other Leelanau County townships. The board approved (motion P. Laureto, support J. DePuy, unanimous) allowing the Garden Club to sell 5 old planter barrels, with resident Tom Plasman proposing to purchase them to help fund new planters. All board members signed the Michigan Township Association's Principles of Governance document. The board approved (motion D. Lewis, support J. DePuy, unanimous) a request from the Leelanau Historical Society to archive a donated 1889–1920 Glen Arbor Justice of the Peace ledger.

General Fund bills (1/21–2/17/26) totaled $16,584.29 and January payroll was $20,391.04, both approved unanimously. Using the 2026 COLA of 2.8%, the board adopted salary resolutions: Supervisor's salary increased to $31,880.40; Treasurer's to $44,255.40; Clerk's to $65,329.40; Trustee DePuy's and Trustee Hawley's each to $4,369.23 — each resolution passed by roll call with the affected official abstaining. Resolution #6-2026, Budget Amendment #1 FY26, was adopted unanimously as amended. The FY27 budget was presented for review, with discussion of potential roof replacement costs for the township hall.
Action Items
The Clerk will prepare documents to repeal four township ordinances for next month's meeting. The Clerk will seek an ADA website compliance specialist (required by April 26, 2027) and is awaiting a third phone system quote. The board will discuss replacement of the Zoning Administrator, whose contract expires end of March, at next month's meeting. The Clerk is obtaining roof quotes for the township hall. A mandatory Prebid Meeting for Station 1 remodeling is set for February 24 at Station 1. The Public Budget Hearing is set for March 17 at 7:00 p.m., and the Special Board Meeting to adopt the FY27 budget is set for March 30 at 10:00 a.m.
