Trustee Slocombe updated the board on the Playground Committee's progress, and the board gave consent for the committee to proceed in securing grant money and other funding. Pete will provide a contract from Gosling Czubak for additional time and materials. A suggestion was made to compensate the volunteer worker at the ice rink; the personnel committee (Periard and Carlson) will review this. Supervisor Periard approved entrance fees for Jared Pontius and Trustee Slocombe to attend the Mparks Conference at the Resort.
Other Business
Planning & Zoning: ZA Patmore submitted a written report; Trustee Carlson updated the board on Planning Commission work, including no application yet for the Drake Project (public comments were taken), an overlay zone for the Leelanau Physical Therapy project, a change of use request for Vineyard Inn to allow workforce housing, and an ongoing rewrite of the Zoning Ordinance and 5-Year Master Plan. Fire Authority: Treasurer Petroskey reported the fire authority accepted a bid for its audit, its remodeling project is on schedule, and the Fire Hall will replace SB Middle School as the voting venue for future elections. The January 8, 2025 meeting minutes were approved.
