A review of incident reports over the past 10 years showed only 3 incidents on M-22 through town, with no significant injuries. Supervisor Laureto stated MDOT has been contacted by phone and email, with a response still pending, and that he would wait for MDOT guidance before placing the request on a future agenda. A related resident request last year to lower speed limits on Dunns Farm Road was also discussed; a random speed study there found no major incidents, so no action was taken.
Other Business
Fire Chief Ferguson reported 70 emergency calls in June and 51 already in July. The previously approved pick-up truck has been purchased, and the vehicle plan is being implemented. The State of Michigan was scheduled to inspect the department's EMS Rescue truck on July 19, 2025. Chief Ferguson updated the Board on the ladder truck purchase, noting the department secured the last available Pierce Dealer Allocated Stock Ladder Truck; two more meetings are planned before the order is finalized on September 8. The Planning Commission did not meet in July. The Board voted unanimously (motion by P. Laureto, support D. Lewis) to appoint Mary Barnes as an Advisor to the Glen Lake Library board.
