Summary

Infrastructure Projects
Supervisor Laureto reported that American Tower acknowledged it had failed to pay seven months of revenue sharing owed under contract and issued a check for $19,090.36. Clerk Laureto reported the QR payment code at the Boat Ramp has been updated and is now functional, and informed the Board of delays in the parking lot project, providing anticipated completion dates. Supervisor Laureto also shared updates on Lake Street parking spaces, fire lane painting, and new parking signage agreed upon with the Road Commission.
Other Business
- 4th of July Parade: The National Park Service will block off the hill into Glen Haven and Stocking Drive; the Road Commission will provide four barricades but requires the Township to staff them. Four members of the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce attended and agreed to partner with the Township, supplying volunteers for the event.
- Memorial Day Ceremony at the GA Cemetery: Linda Dewey will serve as MC, Terri Myers organized chair pickup with help from Glen Lake 8th graders, and the Friends of Sleeping Bear will provide a track chair for mobility assistance.
- Library Board: Motion by D. Lewis, support J. DePuy, to reappoint Cynthia Taggert to a second 3-year term (ending 2028) and appoint Angela DeWitt to complete Dan Semple’s term (ending 2027). Motion carried unanimously.
- Office Roof: Repaired after tree damage; total cost $13,242.00, paid by insurance less the Township’s $2,500.00 deductible.
- Shed at Leelanau School: Motion by T. Laureto, support P. Laureto, to donate the unused former tennis-equipment shed to the school. Motion carried unanimously.
- Fire Chief’s Salary: Motion by D. Lewis, support J. DePuy, to award a 4% salary increase for 2025–2026. Motion carried unanimously.

General Fund bills (4/16–5/20/25) totaled $54,299.60 with April payroll of $26,903.08, approved unanimously.
