Regular Meeting (Supervisor’s Report April 14, 2025)

Executive Summary:

Firefighter Agreement: The tentative agreement with firefighters is under review by the township’s attorney and a special meeting will be scheduled later this month to approve the agreement and authorize the drafting of ballot language for two millage requests in August.

Tree Damage: Branches were down at Beechwood and the top half of a tree snapped off at Drow, requiring removal. A large damaged pine branch at Beechwood will likely need to be removed by a tree service.

Sunset Shores Update: A circuit-court hearing resulted in a temporary injunction that prevents the township from moving forward on the Sunset Shores project until a ruling on either the tax tribunal cases or the circuit court matter. The township’s attorneys expect to file a summary disposition to expedite the latter.

Crown Castle Update: Crown Castle has filed a Metro Act application for fiber optic installation in the township, which would involve the replacement of three utility poles in Leland with taller poles to accommodate small cell antennas.

Sidewalk Update: Sidewalk construction is expected to start on April 28 and be completed by May 30, including the sidewalk on Grand from Pearl to just shy of Juniper, and the sidewalk extension from Lake Street and River down to the Harbor parking lot.
