The General Services Committee of the Village of Suttons Bay will convene on November 5, 2024, to address various matters, including the 2025 General Service Budget, Marina Fee Schedule, and Utility & Marina and Administrative & Personnel Budget discussions. The meeting will begin with reports from staff, public comments, and committee business. The agenda also includes status updates from other committees, public/written communications, member comments, announcements, and adjournment.

The committee will review the 2025 Street Projects, which prioritize incremental improvements to the street network, focusing on segments to address pressing needs. A significant maintenance project involving “Tar & Chip” is budgeted for the year. Additionally, plans include improvements to Elm Street and a costly parking area repair on St. Mary’s Street.

Furthermore, the committee will review the 2025 Park Improvement Overview, detailing improvements across several parks. Sutton Park will see Phase-1 completion of its walkway with ADA-compliant enhancements and the installation of wood pylons to delineate park edges and parking areas. Waterwheel Park will focus on rehabilitation and public updates after the stream’s construction.

Duester Park will undergo improvements to the Fairgrounds Barn, and the elimination of the ball field will make way for a soccer field. Coal Dock Park will continue planning for a multi-park educational loop, with a new bridge being the primary focus and a grant application for its funding. Measures to secure picnic tables at the park will also be implemented due to vandalism.
