Work Session (Minutes)

**Executive Summary**

The Empire Village Council held a work session on January 11, 2023, at the Empire Township Hall. The meeting, called to order at 7:00 p.m., included all council members and Clerk Smith. The agenda was amended with additions under Old and New Business, and approved. Public comment was taken on agenda items, and an email regarding Short-Term Rental controls was read aloud.

Presentations were given by Mika Meyers, the new Village Attorney, followed by a demonstration of TextMyGov software. The council reviewed departmental reports and various committee minutes. Key decisions included approving the Personnel Committee’s offer for a DPW Technician position, approving the December 14, 2023, meeting minutes, and extending the New Office Committee’s end date. Motions were passed approving a Snowplowing Proposal from Harriger and accepting a bid for Lambkin Lane and Florence Street projects. Finally, the council approved a sound invoice for an amplifier.
