Township Board: Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 5:30pm (MEETING PACKET)

The Leelanau Township Board convened on August 13, 2024, with all members present, to address a comprehensive agenda. The meeting commenced with routine procedures, including roll call, the Pledge of Allegiance, and approval of the amended agenda, which included the addition of a cemetery tree service item. Public comments focused on the Planning Commission, specifically regarding training, appointments, and concerns about a proposed communication tower. The Board reviewed and approved the minutes from the June 11, 2024, meeting with noted corrections, and approved the bills, following some discussion.


Reports were presented, including an audit report from UHY, updates from Leelanau County Commissioners, NLTUA, Emergency Services, the Clerk, Planning Commission, Parks & Rec, and the Facilities Manager. The audit report highlighted the need for an ACH Policy adoption. The Board took action on several items. They approved the 2023-2024 audit, the MLCC Bohemian Cellars, air duct cleaning, and a tree service for the cemetery in Omena. Furthermore, Hugh Scott was nominated for the Planning Commission appointment. Public comments resumed.
