**Executive Summary**

**Call to Order and Agenda Approval:** The Charter Township of Elmwood held a special board meeting on July 23, 2024, called to order by Supervisor Shaw. The agenda was approved unanimously by a voice vote, with the following members present: Jeff Shaw, Connie Preston, Terry Lautner, Dave Darga, Chris Mikowski, and Kyle Trevas. Jordan Gallagher was excused. There were no declarations of conflict of interest or public comments before agenda approval.

**New Business and Discussions:** The primary focus of the meeting was the Advanced Life Support (ALS) ballot language discussion. Supervisor Shaw indicated that, after internal discussions and consultation with the union, it was decided to postpone the millage request. The board wanted to ensure a thorough understanding of all associated costs. Discussions also included offering insurance to employee dependents, with the employee covering 20% of the premiums, which will be presented at the August meeting. A motion by Clerk Preston, seconded by Trustee Trevas, was passed to table the ALS discussion to a future meeting, also with a unanimous vote.

**Public Comment and Updates:** Following the tabled discussion, Robert Sokolnicki provided public comment. Supervisor Shaw provided updates on the Marina, citing a reduction in staffing hours to save approximately $8,000.00 on labor due to lower-than-expected revenue. Centerpointe agreed to allow Elmwood marina users access to their shower and laundry facilities once the Elmwood buildings are demolished. The increase in insurance liability limits for slip holders will be addressed at the August meeting.
