Special Meeting (Minutes)

The Charter Township of Elmwood held a special board meeting on May 24, 2024, at the Township Hall, called to order by Supervisor Jeff Shaw at 1:10 p.m. All board members were present, and there were no conflicts of interest or public comments. The agenda was approved unanimously, setting the stage for discussions on new business items related to the marina’s operational needs.

The first item of new business was the purchase of a golf cart for the marina, as outlined in a memo from Harbormaster Dan Jenuwine. The memo detailed the necessity of the cart to enhance marina operations’ efficiency. After visiting several dealerships, a suitable option was found. Trustee Darga emphasized the importance of safety training for employees using the cart. The board unanimously approved the purchase of the golf cart for $9,995.00.

The second item discussed was the need for office equipment upgrades at the marina to support the new Dockwa software system. Supervisor Shaw noted that the current contract with the State of Michigan and CAMIS had expired, suggesting the potential use of Dockwa’s transient reservation module, which might include necessary updates to the POS system. The board decided to wait on the Dockwa upgrade but approved $3,100.00 for the immediate office equipment upgrade. The meeting concluded with no further public comments and was adjourned at 1:44 p.m.
